Blog Design Team: Happy Owl-o-Ween!
Hey there, crafty friends! Today, Kay Miller has created an darling Halloween card and she shows you how to combine images from two very different stamp sets to suit your needs! Check it out…
Let’s hear from Kay about her project…
Hello friends! Hopefully you are enjoying some cooler weather now
that fall approaches. I just love this time of year! There is nothing
more wonderful than the cool crisp days of fall after a long hot summer.
I have created a fun Halloween card to share with you today featuring
the adorable stamp set Owl-o-ween! Those owls are so cute!I started with some watercolor paper and Kuretake watercolors. I
painted on some purple along the lower edge where I knew my branch would
be, then added some green and yellow above it. I did not wet my paper
this time nor did I allow my paint to do a lot of blending, because
these colors make brown when mixed together, and I wanted them to retain
their pretty, vibrant shades. I let this dry and then stamped the
sentiment below it.I next colored the owls, the branch, and the flowers with Copic
markers and cut them all out with the matching dies. The flowers are
from the Tag-a-long Easter set, but I needed some Halloween flowers for
my little owls and they worked!I adhered the limb flat to my
watercolored piece with glue, then popped the owls and flowers up with
some foam tape for dimension. I added a few little detail dots with a
white gel pen, them mounted the whole panel to an A2 top folding card
base.
Thank you so much, Kay, for sharing your fun Owl-o-ween card! Be sure to visit Kay on her blog, My Joyful Moments, for more of her wonderful work. Have a joyful day!
