I have three projects to share with you today and I was so excited about all of them that I couldn’t decide which one to show first! So I hemmed and hawed a little bit longer and settled on this one:
I had so much fun using several dies (both new and previously released) to create this peaceful ‘night before Christmas’ scene. I started by die cutting the Eventful – Night Before Christmas border. You might notice that this border die includes a couple of rectangles tabbed to the outside that upon first glance, might look like random/unnecessary pieces. But would I ever give you something unnecessary? These rectangles are the perfect size to use behind the window opening making it much simpler to create the yellow glow from within the homes! Just adhere the yellow rectangle to the back of the die cut border within the window openings.
Or you could do like I did and color a piece of white paper with yellow Copic marker and then die cut the rectangles from the colored portions:
After creating the yellow glow from within the homes I die cut additional pieces for the scene including a rolling hill, the On Dasher on Dancer border, and some of the Little Bits – Snowflake Confetti. I embossed the background with the Winter Flurry embossing folder and then began building my scene. I found that the chimney steam on the home in the center of my card was going to cover up my sentiment so I took care of that by snipping it right off! I just love how this came together!
And now I’m excited to introduce you to a new family here at Taylored Expressions… the Roly Poly family! We’re starting this new collection with Santa, Snowman, Rudolph, and Penguin and I used Pete the Penguin to create a super cute gift tag:
The Roly Poly’s were designed to fit on a 3″ circle. If you’re not sure if you already have a 3″ circle, make a note that we’ve included just the size you’ll need in our new Stitched Circle Stacklets set. Plus you’ll have all of the layering dies you need to use for the details on the back of the tag.
After die cutting the elements from the appropriate colors (including the cut hat from Red Hot felt), I simply assembled the penguin onto the 3″ circle and stamped the ‘to-from’ and ‘no peeking’ sentiments onto a white stitched circle adhered to the back.
And last, but not least, I had fun creating this scene straight from the North Pole! Can’t you just imagine Mrs. Claus hanging Santa’s gear out on the line? Although considering the temperature at the North Pole it might be frozen solid when she brings it inside. Never mind that… this is a card and it’s cute even if it doesn’t make the most logical sense! *wink*
The previously released On the Line Cutting Plate has been so popular that we decided to release a version just for the holidays. After assembling the trees and clothing on the line, I added the Season’s Greetings banner and the cute Little Bits – Penguin at the bottom.
And of course, it wouldn’t be a proper North Pole scene without a few snowflakes in the sky! Don’t forget… if you’d like to win this cute set of On the Line dies, just leave a comment on today’s post!
That’s it for me today! Hope to see you back here tomorrow for a sneak peek at a brand new product line! And you’ll definitely want to check out what the rest of the creative team has been up to with today’s products! Leave ’em some love along the way!
