Good morning, crafty friends! We’ve been over the river and through the woods this week as we’ve shared sneak peeks of our newest products (and hopefully you’ve appreciated all of my Christmas song references throughout! *grin*). I’m here to kick off our last day of sneak peeks before all of the new products are available for purchase at the TE web store beginning on Thursday morning at 7am PST. And if you ask me, we saved the best for last, as today we’re debuting a brand new product at Taylored Expressions!
Before I get into all the nitty gritty details, you’ll definitely want to know about today’s giveaway so you can leave your comment to win. I think it’s only fitting that we give away the newest addition to the TE product line, but why give away a set to just one lucky winner when I can give away a set to THREE lucky winners!?
Today we’re giving away three sets of the new 3×4 Watercolor Panels – Christmas!
Enter to win by leaving a comment on this blog post before Wednesday, September 30th at 11:59pm PST. One entry per person. Each comment will be automatically entered into our Grand Prize drawing for a $50 Gift Certificate to the TE Store! Winners will be chosen at random and announced on Thursday, October 1, 2015.

3×4 Watercolor Panels – Christmas
So here I’ve been teasing you about our newest product, but the teasing ends here! I can’t wait any longer to introduce you to the new 3×4 Watercolor Panels – Christmas!
If you’ve been tuning in to the news lately then you’ve probably noticed the stories about the growing trend of coloring for adults. New companies are jumping in to manufacture “adult” coloring books, but they’re not fooling us! We card makers have known the stress-relieving benefits of coloring for a long time!
With this new product, I wanted to incorporate not only the therapeutic benefits of coloring, but also recognize watercoloring as a growing trend and preferred medium for coloring.
The 3″ x 4″ panel size is ideal for so many applications: focal points on handmade cards, gift tags, pocket scrapbooking, planner inserts, and more! Each package includes 12 individual black & white Christmas and holiday illustrations, each printed on heavyweight watercolor paper.
OK… now I’ve told you all about them so let me show you what I made!
I started by watercoloring a few of the panels using Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and a water brush. I’ll be the first to tell you that I don’t have watercolor experience and I had never used the Zig markers before a couple nights ago! All that to say that you shouldn’t be intimidated even if it’s not something you’ve tried before. Watercolor is such a forgiving coloring medium as you can continue to layer on color and move it around by adding more water.
Each panel took me a while to finish (probably because I don’t do it very often!), but it was the perfect activity to keep my hands busy while watching The Voice. *grin*
After finishing the coloring I wanted to keep the cards simple so I mounted the panel onto Sweet Basil cardstock and used our two new embossing folders (Nordic Holiday and Holly) to emboss the backgrounds. I just love how these turned out!
For my next project I used one of my favorite stamp sets from this release, Critters on Ice! These little critters wearing ice skates have stolen my heart… especially the moose!
I started with one of the pre-designed scene papers from the Build a Scene Christmas 6×6 paper pack and then added more die cut trees and an icy pond from the Build a Scene – Central Park die set.
Then I stamped Mr. Moose onto Sugar Cube cardstock, colored him with Copics, and die cut with the coordinating die. I stamped the sentiment in the sky and added several snowflakes to the sky with Little Bits – Snowflake Confetti.
So that’s it for my projects for today! Remember, we’re giving away a set of watercolor cards to three lucky winners so that triples your chance to win just by leaving a comment on today’s post. I’d love to hear what you love! You’ll also want to check out what our fabulous creative team has been up to using today’s featured products! They’ll knock your socks off!
