Blog Design Team: So Grateful
This week is flying by fast, crafty friends! Can you believe that next week is Thanksgiving? Today Blog Design Team member, Sharon Harnist has created a perfect shaped card for one of our favorite holidays. Check it out!
Now let’s hear from Sharon about her project…
I adore white pumpkins – they are something different and unexpected! I also
love the fabulous texture embossing folders bring to
papercrafting, so today’s project combines a few of my favorite things into this
grateful pumpkin shaped card.Here are the steps to create this pretty layered pumpkin:
1. Die cut Sack It-Pumpkin from Buttercream
Frosting cardstock.2. Turn pumpkin die upside down (so the three-hump bottom is now at the top)
and, with the die-cut pumpkin still in the correct position (three humps still at
the bottom), slide the cardstock through the die until the edge of the die is
positioned over the left bottom hump of the pumpkin; die cut:3. Repeat the process with the right side of the pumpkin
4. Repeat this die cutting process two more times (once to each side; photo shows after left side was cut)
5. You’ll be left with a center oval-ish shape
You should end up with five die cut pieces resembling these:
6. Next, emboss each pumpkin section with a different embossing
folder – I used: Scattered Leaves, Cable Knit, Burlap, Leafy
Vine, Twirls and Swirls.7. Sponge each embossed pumpkin section with Antique Linen Distress Ink.
8. Die cut another Sack It-Pumpkin solid pumpkin from
Buttercream Frosting cardstock and adhere the pumpkin sections
to the solid pumpkin, using foam tape on the center
section.9. Die-cut a folded Buttercream Frosting card base with the
large Sack It-Pumpkin, so that the pumpkin shape is hinged at
the top fold.10. Adhere the pumpkin pieced panel onto the pumpkin folded card. Add pumpkin
stem, die cut from Toffee cardstock and sponged with Gathered
Twigs Distress Ink. Die-cut leaf from watercolor paper and watercolor with
Peeled Paint Distress Ink; adhere leaf behind pumpkin stem.11. Die cut Pockets & Pages-November Script “grateful”
word from Gold Metallic Premium Cardstock; adhere to pumpkin
