Blog Design Team: Warm Winter Wishes
It’s Tuesday, crafty friends, and it’s getting chilly! Today, Blog Design Team member Kay Miller is sending everyone warm winter wishes with this frosty fun card!
Let’s hear from Kay about her project…
Hello friends! It’s a snowman time of year! I love winter and
everything about snow and Christmas! I’m here today to show you how to
create this cute snowman snowglobe card with a fun technique for the
background!I started with a piece of Salt Water Taffy
cardstock and cut it down to 4 x 5–1/4 inches. I ran this through my
die-cut machine with the Winter Flurry Embossing Folder. I then took
some white acrylic paint and a sponge and sponged white paint just along
the tops of the snowflakes. I got a little messy and got some in the
recessed areas, but I thought it looked good and added to the mixed
media effect.I let this dry and mounted it to a top-folding card base with foam tape. I then colored the little snowman
and trees scene with Copic markers and cut it out with the round piece
from the Shake it Up die set. I stamped the sentiment in VersaMark ink,
and heat embossed it with white embossing powder onto Cherry Pop cardstock. I cut this out with the base part in the Shake it Up die set.I
mounted the globe and base onto my embossed snowflake panel with foam
tape, then cut out a snowflake from the Make a Snowflake dies set and
adhered that to the left side.Such a fun card to brighten someone’s day during the cold months of winter!
Thank you so much, Kay, for sharing this wonderfully wintery card with us today. Be sure to visit Kay on her blog, My Joyful Moments, for more of her gorgeous work. Have a joyful day!
