For my first project, I reached for the Bugs & Kisses stamp and die combo which pairs with the Mason Jar stamp and coordinating die. In real life, spiders are one of my least favorite things, but the one in this stamp set is so stinkin’ cute that I let him crawl right onto my acrylic block!
I started by stamping the mason jar and spider inside and hand drawing the line for the spider to hang from. I colored the spider with Copic markers and the die cut the mason jar with the coordinating die. I pictured little hearts escaping the jar to go with the ‘my love for you cannot be contained’ sentiment.
I used several enamel hearts from two different Doodlebug heart sprinkles sets. The sentiment was die cut with a Stitched Banner Stacklet. I trimmed the top and bottom of the sentiment to make space for it on the card which is why you don’t see the stitch detail on the top and bottom of the banner. And when in doubt, I frame it up with one of our Picture Perfect frame dies! *smile*
For my second project, I was drawn to use the adorable Quick Critters to create a set of small notecards. The concept behind this set was to have critters that require no coloring in order to make them quick and easy to mass-produce for Valentine gifting. Here’s the set of 3×3 notecards I made using the four Quick Critters:
I made some happy discoveries as I created these notecards! First, one of the stacklets in our new Stitched Square Stacklet set layers perfectly inside both the Bracket and Scalloped notecards. And then the newly released Build a Scene – Calendar dies (grass, hill, fence) fit exactly across the length of the stitched square! I just love it when things like that come together!
Wouldn’t these make super cute classroom Valentine’s? I was thinking of slipping a few little tattoos inside each notecard because it seems we’re going the direction of non-candy gifts at Madi’s preschool.
So that’s it for my projects for today! Remember, we’re giving away the Quick Critters Stamp & Die combo so leave a comment for your chance to win. I’d love to hear what you love! You’ll also want to check out what our fabulous creative team has been up with today’s featured products! These gals are truly amazing!
