Hey there, crafty friends! I hope you’ve been enjoying our sneak peeks so far! Today is a travel day for me as we head to California for the annual Craft & Hobby Association trade show in Anaheim. We’ll be in Booth 772 with all of our new products, a fun photo op, free make and take, and more surprises!

With two little girls at our house, it’s probably no surprise that mermaids are often a topic of conversation. Our girls requested a mermaid themed birthday party but when I went to make their invitations, a little mermaid was nowhere to be found.
So I asked Danielle to draw me a cute mermaid which I used to create their party invitation, favors, and thank you notes. But of course, her illustrations were just too cute to keep to myself so now we have the Mermaid Kisses Stamp & Die Combo! Before I get to my card, I thought I’d share a few pics of our little mermaids (Charlee-2, Madi-4) and their mermaid party last fall!
For this card, I combined Mermaid Kisses with the Oceans of Fun set. I imagined a scene with the mermaid surrounded by jellyfish using the “a little jelly told me it’s your birthday” sentiment.
The card is sized 5″ x 7″ and is flat (it does not open). I started by stamping the mermaid and jellyfish and coloring them with Copics. Then I masked all of the stamped elements and using templates cut with the Build a Scene – Rolling Waves dies, I airbrushed the wavy background.
To finish it off, I added a Rolling Hill of sand along with seaweed and coral from the Build a Scene – Underwater set. The sentiment was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and I mounted the image panel onto Lollipop cardstock. Since the card does not fold, I will simply decorate the back of the panel and write my message there. Can’t wait to give this to a little mermaid lover!
My next project uses an image depicting one of my favorite things… CUPCAKES! Who doesn’t love a good tower of treats especially when they’re as cute as these!?
I started by stamping the image onto Sugar Cube cardstock and coloring it with Copic markers. I die cut it with the coordinating die and added foam tape to the back. The card layout is super simple (and actually one that I cased from
this beautiful card by Joan). I simply added a Stitched Scallop Border, silver twine, a sentiment, and a grouping of sequins with a cute patterned heart enamel dot.
It’s only logical that birthday calories don’t count, right?
So that wraps up my projects for today and for this release! Remember, we’re giving away the Sweet Tooth Tower Stamp & Die Combo so leave a comment for your chance to win.
