Sneak Peeks! Live with a boy? Gross!
Good morning, crafty friends! Although we’re still in February (Happy Leap Year!), today marks the beginning of sneak peeks for our March Release! We’re following this popular saying with our release this month: “First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes the baby in the baby carriage.” We’re starting off sneak peeks with some hilarious marital grumplings and other beautiful wedding products including a new set of dies for a fan favorite wedding themed stamp set. We’ll be finishing off the week with new baby products that will enhance what you already have in your collection as well as a must-have set of grumplings for any grown-up!
Our talented design team is joining in to share their amazing projects and I’d love to have you join in the fun too! Just stop by the blog each day and leave a comment with your answer to my Question of the Day for a chance to win one of our new products or a Grand Prize gift certificate to the TE Store! I love to hear from all of you!
Today I’m giving away the Best Wishes Script die to one lucky winner!
It’s a really versatile die as you could cut the words apart and stamp ‘birthday’ or ‘get well’ to go with the ‘wishes’!
The fine print: Leave your comment before Wednesday, March 2nd at 11:59pm PST. One entry per person. Each comment will also be entered into our Grand Prize drawing for a $50 Gift Certificate to the TE Store! Winners will be chosen at random and announced on Thursday, March 3rd, 2016.
And now for my projects! I started by getting out the previously released Happily Ever After stamp set to create a beautiful bouquet perfect for a wedding card. I wanted to try a color combination that I wouldn’t normally use so I googled for wedding color combination ideas and came across this beautiful inspiration photo:
I wanted to use this as inspiration as I rarely grab for shades of blue (I know… it’s a crime!). I also love how a bit of purple in the flowers really makes the yellow pop. I know I didn’t stick strictly to the inspiration on my project, but that’s why it’s inspiration!
I started by embossing several flowers with white embossing powder onto watercolor paper. Then I watercolored the flowers with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers and die cut them with the coordinating dies. In order to continue adding to my bouquet, I stamped the leaves and solid flowers and die cut those with coordinating dies.
The leaves and small flowers are solid images, but I wanted them to match the look of the watercolored blooms so I added accents to the stamped images with varying shades of Copic marker.
After stamping, coloring, and die cutting all of the elements of the bouquet, I decided on the Label Stacklets 7 shape to hold the bouquet. I used the partial die cutting technique to leave the bottom of the shape intact and cut straight across to hold the sentiment. I embossed this piece with the Dotted Lattice embossing folder and popped it up with foam tape over a Salt Water Taffy card base. Then I began building the bouquet within the opening and finished off the card with the Best Wishes Script.

For my next project, I just had to use the Mr. & Mrs. Grumplings set as they totally crack me up! I envisioned a little house on the hill would be perfect for the “Gross… you have to live with a boy now.” sentiment!
I started by stamping and coloring the happy couple and die cutting them with the coordinating dies. Then I used several dies from our Build a Scene series to create the scene where they live. There’s certainly no shortage of chuckles when the grumplings are around!
