Creative Team Spotlight: Meet Keia, Joan, Kendra…& a Giveaway!
It’s Monday crafty friends, and it’s a really, really good one! The reason is we’re introducing more of our incredible Creative Team to you! Our talented designers are working on projects for our May Release and we will be sharing sneak peeks in the TE Newsletter and on our Facebook Page later this week!

We love our designers so much we would love for you to get to know them all a little better. Each month, we’ll introduce some of these lovely ladies and celebrate with a fun giveaway! Keep reading for details on how you can win a $25 Gift Certificate to the TE Store!
We thought we’d share a few of our favorite projects that really show off the wide range of styles of our Creative Team. Enjoy!
Keia Shipp-Smith, Confessions of a Paperholic
Hailing from Illinois, Keia has been happily married to her college sweetie for 14 years and their two boys, in her words, keep her on her toes “son up, to son down!” While living in Japan, she was introduced to papercrafting during a crafting party, and we are so glad she quickly got hooked! We look forward every month to seeing Keia’s clever, unique designs. She loves documenting her family’s life with pocket scrapbooking, which she finds works so well with her busy lifestyle. When not in her craft space, you can find Keia at her local church, whether it’s volunteering in her son’s pre-school class or in the Women’s Ministry. Recently, she volunteered to be a part of the church’s Card Ministry, sharing joy with fellow church members and for missionaries abroad by creating handmade cards. She and her family also love camping and hitting the road to explore Illinois and national parks. A wonder-worker with our dies, her faves include Build a Scene and our Cutting Plates and she loves looking for new ways to use them. We asked her to choose a favorite book, and she told us she loves the Anne of Green Gables series by L.M. Montgomery for its spunky titular character.
Joan Ervin, Stamping with a Passion!
Married to her retired military husband for 24 years, Joan lives in Temple, TX. The two of them have 5 children, 12 grandchildren and step-grandchildren, and most of them are in sports, band, choir, and theater so she’s kept quite busy! A Registered Nurse, Joan has also taught courses in OB clinicals at the university and junior college level. She is incredibly proud of her oldest granddaughter, who will graduate from nursing school next year! We always love seeing Joan’s work every month, and we have her daughter, Holly, to thank for introducing Joan to the world of papercrafting. We love seeing her dry and wet embossing work, especially when using our Embossing Folders! Joan also dabbles in other crafts such as quilting, sewing, scrapbooking, and is a talented oil painter. She also cares for three beautiful horses — and as if Joan isn’t busy enough, she is also a dedicated gardener, cultivating nearly 100 Iris hybrids in her yard. Joan likes to joke that she must have been Italian in another life because she loves pizza, lasagna, spaghetti, and anything from the Olive Garden! (But she would still give it all up for chocolate!)
Kendra Wietstock, Kendra’s Card Company
Kendra makes her home in the city of Goshen in Indiana, where she lives with her high school sweetheart and their active and accomplished musician son, 16-year-old Matt. Their travel-loving 19-year-old daughter is a freshman at Indiana Wesleyan University. One of our team’s most avid scrapbookers, Kendra got her start in papercrafting when her daughter was just 6 months old. When not making cards or scrapping memories, Kendra spends her time wrangling over 270 teenage band members as lead Band Mom for her son’s Championship Marching Band. We have always loved Kendra’s colorful designs, which illustrates how much she loves cardstock! She is also a big fan of working with dies and especially loves our stitched designs. If she could travel to just one place, that would be Rome, Italy, where she and her family have been twice and again for a mother-daughter vacation. They adore the breathtaking scenery, rich history, and friendly people!
