Blog Design Team: July Marching In!
Hey there, crafty friends! Blog Design Team member Sharon Harnist has been inspiring us with her sweet 6×6 Calendar series and today, just in time for the end of July, she’s created a wonderfully nostalgic calendar page. Check it out…
And now here is Sharon to tell you all about her project…
We are well into the summer and nearing the end of the month, so you know what that means … another calendar page from me, and this one was tons of fun to create!
The calendar topper couldn’t be any more simple to make than this – Emboss Blue Corn cardstock with the Fireworks Embossing Folder, then lightly swipe/rub Memento Luxe Wedding Dress pigment ink over the top of the embossed images!
Next, I die cut the adorable Marching On from Sugar Cube cardstock and had a blast coloring the images with these Copic markers.
The 2016 6×6 Calendar Download was printed on white cardstock and trimmed to approximately 5-5/8” square, then placed onto a 6-inch square piece of Cherry Pop cardstock. The Fireworks piece was trimmed and added to the top of the calendar, then the Marching On colored piece was popped up on foam tape over the background. A strip of silver metallic cardstock was added for a sidewalk.
To complete the calendar, Pockets & Pages-July Script was die cut from Cherry Pop cardstock and adhered to the banner. I used ‘wite-out’ correction tape to cover the 4th printed on the calendar and replaced it with the die-cut 4th (also from the Pockets & Pages-July Script die set). Here is the calendar in my 6-inch Frame Your Imagination Vertical Stand (painted white):
As I’ve said before – if calendars don’t happen to be your thing, this same topper would make an adorable scrapbook page title and/or greeting card! Thanks so much for joining me today!
Thank you, Sharon, for sharing your darling calendar with us! You can find more of her work on her blog, PaperFections. Have a joyful day!
