Movers & Shakers Week: Aye Aye, Captain!
TGIF, crafty friends! I hope you have been enjoying our week of Movers & Shakers — I’ve certainly had fun sharing projects with you! Today, I’m sharing more details on a fun spinner card by Creative Team member Gaytri Murali that you may have glimpsed during our June Release. I was so taken with it that I thought I’d share it here on the TE Blog! Check it out…
Notes from Gayatri…
The Little Bits – Helm is a really fun nautical die-set. I got the idea to create a spinner card with it, so I combined this die with the new On the Track: Basics die to make a fun interactive card.
I also used the new background stamp called Striped Background. I used Lemon Meringue Matched Premium Ink to stamp the striped background. I die-cut the background panel using the largest of the Stitched Rectangle Stacklets dies. Then I ran the circular On the Right Track Basics die to die-cut the track element on the card. (Tip — to make the background blend in, just adhere the negative of the track on the first layer.)
The helm die-cut is cut out of Blue Corn and Lemon Meringue cardstock and assembled. I used a penny to make my slider for the helm to slide on the circular track. (Taylored Expressions also has new On the Right Track Discs that would be perfect and not add any weight.) I used a MISTI to stamp the sentiment on the center of the circular track and the bigger sentiment on a strip of white cardstock, trimmed, and adhered using foam adhesives. To add interest I brushed shimmer on the helm using a clear shimmer pen.
Thank you, Gayatri, for rounding out our week of moving and shaking cards! I hope you all have a lovely weekend, full of crafting and creativity!
