So now that you know about all of the festivities surrounding our birthday celebration, should we get to the goodies? That is, the new products! Today’s theme is none other than birthday and we’ve got bunches of birthday products to share with you!
First up, I have his and hers versions of the same card. I’m not sure how this worked out, but I was able to combine six of our new products onto each of these cards!
I was thinking of my niece and nephew when I made these cards, but their birthdays aren’t until February. Nothing like getting a head start, huh? I began by stamping the new Free Fall Background with an Ombre effect using Cookie Monster, Sprinkles, and Salt Water Taffy for the boy card and Cherry Pop, Lollipop, and Strawberry Milkshake for the girl card. Then I cut the new Curly Q Cutting Plate to go over the top in the lightest of the three colors.
This month I decided to grab my dusty Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol instead of my typical go-to Copic markers to color the dino and cat images. It was fun getting back into this coloring medium and I always love the results! After coloring and die cutting the images from the Peek-a-Boo Birthday stamp set, I added one of our new number balloons to each card and along with a couple balloons from previously released Bold Balloons set to round it out. And every balloon needs a string so we’ve finally got the previously elusive set of Balloon Strings dies as well.
I’ve been loving the new Free Fall Background so I used it again on this card along with the new B is for Birthday set. You’ll also notice I used the sketch challenge layout on this card!
This time I colored the image with my trusty Copic markers and masked it before stamping the Free Fall Background on top. I used several of our Stitched Stacklets (circle, frame, and banner) to finish the card from there. And of course, a card just isn’t complete without some enamel shapes!
The design team has also been putting our new birthday products to good use so I’m excited to share some of their projects with you too! I love how Melody paired up our new Happy Script die with the new Sweet Tooth Shaker on this bright and beautiful card! The Sprinkles Embossing Folder in the background is just the right touch!
And I love how Jean paired the Happy Script with the previously released Build a Cake die set and ‘birthday’ sentiment:
Keia also brought back the Build a Cake die set on this card where she layered color onto the Curly Q Cutting Plate! I think I’d be OK with turning 40 if I received this gorgeous card! *wink*
I can’t skip out on sharing this beauty by Gayatri featuring the Iconic Wishes – Birthday stamp and die combo which happens to be the set you’ll receive free with a purchase of $50 or more during our birthday celebration!
Before I head out for today, I wanted to give you a heads up about another addition that you might notice as you hop around this week. This month we’re releasing two colors of cardstock with coordinating ink. Meet Key Lime & Mocha!
Key Lime is a brighter, more ‘limey’ version of Granny Smith while Mocha is a more muted and lighter shade of our Chocolate Truffle. I’ll be back with some comparison photos later this week!
If you’re enjoying the day off today, then get started on your sketch challenge card for a chance to win one of our awesome prizes! There are only 3 days left to enter! And in the meantime, check out the fabulous inspiration from our entire creative team:
