F is for Fall: Celebrating the Season!
Good morning, crafty friends! It’s Day 2 of sneak peeks for our September Release and today we’re falling into autumn with the new products we’ll be showcasing. If you had the day off yesterday and happened to miss the start of our week-long birthday celebration (we’re turning 9!) then I’ll start today off with a quick recap of what’s going on. You can find more detailed information on yesterday’s post!
Today you’ll want to grab a pumpkin spice latte and cozy up for some fabulous fall creations! Anyone else ready for the crisp air and a warm pair of slippers to go with favorites like apple cider and pumpkin pie? I’m going to start today off with a card featuring one of my fall favorites; leaves! I love the beauty of leaves as they change color and signal the start of a new season. I’ll admit though, they’re much more beautiful when it’s not my responsibility to rake them!
I started by stamping the new Autumn Leaves Background with Versamark and embossing with white embossing powder on watercolor cardstock. Then I grabbed several colors of Distress Ink appropriate for leaves (Spiced Marmalade, Gathered Twigs, Mustard Seed, Shabby Shutters, Barn Door, and Broken China). I smooshed the ink pads onto clear blocks and used my water brush to grab the color and paint the background.
I didn’t want to cover up the beautiful background so I settled on mounting the new Thanks Script die onto vellum. I die cut the sentiment from Chocolate Truffle cardstock and adhered to vellum. Then I stamped the swash from Bold Brushstrokes at the bottom of the sentiment. I popped a white frame die cut from the Stitched Frame Stacklets 1 set to highlight the sentiment and the mounted the entire panel onto Pumpkin cardstock.
And now for some projects from the Creative Team featuring more of our fall products. I love Keia’s sense to humor and how she combined our previously released Little Bits – Turkey with our new Little Bits – Turkey Dinner die. She also used some elements from the new Sitting Pretty Fall Accessories to set the dinner table.
Jean also used the same grouping of products shown above to set her Thanksgiving table. And Kim used the newest Little Bits to design name cards for her Thanksgiving table!
We have a couple new sets to add to our popular Simply Stamped and Simply Said collections. I’m loving the Simply Stamped – Acorns and I know I’ll be reaching for the Simply Said – Thanks set a lot!
Both Keia and Jean paired these new products with the Autumn Leaves Background. Keia paired the acorns with a grouping of leaves from our Simply Stamped – Leaves set and finished it off with a sentiment from the new Simply Said – Thanks. I just love the rich colors and beautiful texture that the heat embossing provides!
Jean kept her backdrop simple with a tone on tone version of the background stamp and let the acorns take center stage over a beautifully stencil brushed backdrop! And the Little Bits – Leaves add a pop of color and the perfect finishing touch!
And last, but not least, we’re continuing our leafy theme with a second set to add to our new Iconic Collection. The oak leaf featured in Melody’s card below also pairs well with the Simply Stamped – Acorns. And Melody pulled out an oldie but a goodie as she used the rock and roll technique to ink her stamped image. I love the effect of this simple technique especially on a leaf where they’re often several shades.
So there you have it! The second day of sneak peeks is in the books!
