Creative Cutting Plates Week: Watercolor Wonder!
Happy Wednesday, crafty friends! I hope you have been enjoying a week of creativity! I have been having a ball playing with Cutting Plates this week and I hope you are feeling inspired, too, to try out some new and creative ways to use your Cutting Plates. Today, I’m sharing a project from Creative Team member Melody Rupple that is just so much fun. Have you tried to combine water coloring with your Cutting Plates? You can get some really wonderful results! Check it out…
I cut the Rainbow Cutting Plate twice, once from Sugar Cube Card Stock and once from Watercolor Cardstock. I knew I wanted to use my Kuretake Gansai Tambi Watercolor Paints for the rainbow. I colored each row in the order of the colors of a rainbow and then inlayed each piece. At the bottom of the card I used the Build-a-Scene Rolling Clouds Die to add the rows of clouds.
Quick and easy, a watercolor panel placed behind our Rainbow Scallop Cutting Plate elevates this simple card to another level! (Full supply list HERE.)
And above, by cutting from watercolor paper, the look of this happy card using our On the Line Beach Cutting Plate is utterly transformed. (For full supply list, click HERE.)
Thank you, Melody, for sharing this fabulous technique with us today! I can’t wait to try out using watercolor with my Cutting Plate stash. Come back tomorrow for more creative ways to use your Cutting Plates! Have a joyful day!
