Foil It – Super Simple – Super Shiny!
Good morning, crafty friends! If you tuned in to the blog last week, then you already know I’ve been getting crafty with my Minc machine. If you didn’t get a chance to check out my video featuring four different foiling techniques, you can find it HERE. I’m not quite ready to put my Minc away so I’ve been foiling again this week and I have a super simple, super shiny set of notecards to share!
It’s so tough to capture the true sparkle of foil in a photograph, but it is beautiful! These cards were accomplished even more simply with the help of our pre-printed Foil It sentiments! My Minc had been in hibernation for quite a while when I decided to get it out again about a month ago. In looking around at new techniques and new products that were available since the last time I foiled, I found something missing. There just wasn’t much available for pre-printed toner based sentiments designed for foiling. So what do I do when something is missing from my collection? I design something new, of course! Right now we have two sets of pre-printed sentiments for many different occasions. One set is printed onto white cardstock and the other onto heat-resistant acetate and both are ready to accept foil! Here’s a closer look at the set that I used on the three cards pictured above:
After foiling the sentiments I cut them out with a Stitched Circle Stacklet and adhered them over an embossed background to coordinate with each sentiment. I framed the circles with a frame cut using the Stitched Square Stacklets and Inside Scallop Square Stacklets. These two sets of stacklets were designed to work together where the coordinating inside scallop fits inside each layer of the Stitched Squares so that when used together they will create a stitched square frame featuring an inside scallop. We have this same combo for Rectangles, Ovals, and Circles and I use them to create cute frames ALL the time! Here’s the complete supply list:
