Layton’s Legacy Card Drive & Fundraiser
Good morning, crafty friends! Today is a special day as Lea Lawson kicks off a card drive and fundraiser to benefit NICU parents. If you don’t know Lea’s heartbreaking story, you can read more on her blog today, but I can tell you one thing I know about Lea. She has such an amazing heart! She’s turning the pain of her own loss into a beautiful remembrance of her son Layton and a blessing to other parents who are enduring a similar situation. I’d say that’s pretty inspiring and I’m honored to be a small part of her effort!
Would you like to contribute to Layton’s Legacy? With all of our hearts, talents, and resources combined, we can accomplish so much! There are several ways you can get involved as Lea has organized a Card Drive and a fundraising effort to provide NICU families with Starbucks gift cards. Something as simple as a gift card and a handmade card can make such an impact – just letting them know someone is thinking of them! Dozens of crafty companies have joined together to donate over $2000 worth of prizes and for every $5 you donate to Layton’s Legacy Fundraiser, you’ll receive an entry into the drawing for one of these amazing prizes:
In addition to the fundraising effort, several bloggers are joining together to kick off the Card Drive with projects inspired by Lea’s mood board. Cards you create for the Card Drive can be mailed directly to Lea and will be given to NICU families along with the gift cards. Here’s a look at the adorable mood board that sparked the end result of my card:
And here’s a look at the project that I created using the Woodsy Wishes stamp and die set. I thought this set was perfect to fit the woodland theme and I had fun digging through the rest of my stash to find other products to bring it all together:
