Hey, crafty friends! So… how about those new blender brushes? Are you as excited as we all are about them? It was such a thrill to get my own set in the mail, unpackage them, and set them up in the caddy in my craft space. These brushes will be something that I reach for again and again. I love how easy they are to use, I love how they how they lay down color, I love the colored handles, I love the white bristles… should I go on? The card above is one that I created pretty soon after receiving my brushes doing a favorite technique of mine – emboss resist! Blender brushes are absolutely perfect for this technique! I blended two colors of ink over the Rainbow Waves Background to create the ocean scene for that cute otter from the Floaties set.

Let’s take a closer look at the project that I shared in the video:

I used the cute otter from the Floaties stamp set and added it to a tag that I embossed with the Rainbow Waves Background using clear embossing powder. The blender brushes bring the ocean scene alive when you blend the ink colors over the embossed background. It’s so easy to apply and blend the ink colors!

The opening that the otter is tucked into is cut with a die from the Build a Background – Waves stamp & die combo set. I love how the otter looks like he’s bobbing along in the water.

My youngest daughter is on the swim team and each year they have swim sisters that they bring gifts to when there is a meet. These tags are going to be perfect to tie onto a small gift or treat!
