I used the new Gus & Gertie stamp set and coordinating dies to create a set of birthday cards. Watch the video below to see how I made them!
In the video, I share how I created the birthday card using only the Gus & Gertie stamp set and coordinating dies – I didn’t use any additional stamp or die sets. I also share a few tips and tricks for creating more than one card at a time. Since I had all of my supplies out, I wanted to take advantage of it!
Here’s a closer look at the new products that I used in the video:
Introducing Gus & Gertie, dog and bird friends who are here to celebrate the simple joys of life. Color Gus & Gertie with your favorite coloring medium and cut them out with the coordinating dies.
One of my favorite ways to create coordinating backgrounds and/or patterned paper for my projects is stamping with Sugar Cube ink onto Toffee cardstock. The result is something with coordinating images in neutral colors that goes with just about anything!
I colored the Gus & Gertie images with colored pencils and did a little blending with Gamsol and paper stumps. Gus & Gertie are so easy and fun to color! I die cut the images with the coordinating dies and then popped them up on the stamped background with foam squares. The sentiment is stamped under the main image with Oreo ink and I added a little bit of sparkle with a few Bits & Pieces – White Rhinestones.
Here’s more inspiration from the TE Creative Team! Make sure to stop by their blogs as well to get a closer look, more information on the techniques they used, and the supply lists for their projects!
Jill Hawkins used the cute scooter image from the Gus & Gertie set on this adorable card and I love that she incorporated the Plaid Layered Stencil set to create her background. One of my favorite details is the line of die cut grass behind where Gus is riding his scooter! (The grass is from the Build a Scene – Calendar die collection, in case you were curious like I was…!)
To go along with our new dog themed products, we are excited to announce the new Simple Strips – Woof stamp! Stamp 18 dog and pet themed sentiments at one time and then cut them all out with one pass through your die cut machine using the coordinating Simple Strips die.
Or, you can die cut all of the Simple Strips – Woof sentiments out using the new Simple Strips – Well Rounded die! The Simple Strips – Well Rounded die was designed to work with our new Simple Strips -Woof stamp or any of our Simple Strips stamps to allow you to easily cut out the 18 sentiments in strips with rounded ends.
Melody Rupple used a few of the sentiments from the Simple Strips – Woof stamp on this cute puppy themed birthday card featuring the Gus & Gertie set. Her sentiments are embossed in white on Cherry Pop cardstock and cut out with the new Simple Strips – Well Rounded die. Melody used the heart from the new Paw Prints stamp set for the perfect backdrop on her card and if you take a close look at her background, there is a subtle tone on tone look that she created with the new Puppy Love Layered Stencil set.
Thank you so much for stopping by today, we are so happy that you are all just as excited about the new Father’s Day and Dog Lover themed products as we are! There’s one more day of inspiration coming your way tomorrow from Taylor using the Paw Prints stamp set and new dog silhouette die collections. See you then!
