Earn the Bursting Blooms Set FREE With a $100+ Purchase!
Hey, crafty friends! It’s Heather here! Today, I am bringing you a little bit of spring in the middle of the very cold weather that so many of us are experiencing. It’s a project that is created with the Bursting Blooms stamp set that is the exclusive gift with purchases of $100 or more during the month of February in the TE webstore. Joy Baldwin used the stamp set to create a get well card and I have a video to share that shows you how she created it.
Before I get to the video, here’s a closer look at the Bursting Blooms stamp set:
Spring is in the air (or at least we can’t wait for it to be!), and the beautiful Bursting Blooms stamp set is just what you need to brighten someone’s day. The set features a graceful stem of cheerful cherry blossoms and a few sweet sentiments in a simple font.
Watch the video below to see how Joy Baldwin created the beautiful get well card using the Bursting Blooms stamp set:
In the video, Joy shares how she used a masking stencil and masking paper to emboss and stencil the background behind the floral stem from the Bursting Blooms stamp set. She shows how she colored the flowers using Copic markers and fussy cut extra blooms from an additional stamped image to add dimension to the card. Joy’s card is finished with the ‘get well soon’ sentiment stamped on a cardstock strip and Bits & Pieces – White Rhinestones for extra sparkle.
Joy’s peach and teal color combination just feels like spring, doesn’t it? To add the blended oval in the background, the floral stem was masked with Stamping Mask Paper, the largest oval stencil from the Masking Stencils – Ovals set was lined up over the top, and then Joy used a Blender Brush to add Poblano Pepper ink through the stencil. She added a darker tone of the color around the edge of the oval and lightened things up towards the center to highlight the main image.
I really love how Joy masked the stenciled oval and then embossed a polka dot background created with the Hot Spots stencil around it. She applied Versamark ink through the stencil and embossed the dots using white embossing powder. It’s a great subtle background effect and the shiny dots add lots of dimension and shine!
This card is certain to brighten the day and bring sunshine to a loved one who is feeling under the weather! The supply list below includes the products that Joy used to create this card in addition to the Bursting Blooms stamp set:
