Today’s video comes from Emily Leiphart. She created tags for the holidays in a non-traditional color combination using the Snow Squad Die & Clear Combo set. Watch the video below:
In the video, Emily shares tags in two sizes that she created with the Snow Squad Die & Clear Combo set. She cut out the elements to create the snowman, bear, and penguin with the dies, added details using the clear stamps, and added the critters to tag bases created with the Pierced Tag Stacklets 2 and Tag Stacklets 2 die collections. The top of the tag backgrounds are stenciled with the Stencil Strips – Holiday set using Sugar Cube ink and Emily added snow drifts to the bottoms of the tags with the Build a Scene – Rolling Hills dies cut out from white glitter cardstock. On the smaller tags, she added stamped sentiments from the Pretty Package – Holiday Tags stamp set and on the larger tags she added sentiments from the Tag Team – Christmas stamp set stamped onto Tag Team die cuts.
Didn’t Emily’s tags turn out so cute? I love the color combination that she used: Cookie Monster, Plum Punch, and Eggplant – it’s a great one for a wintery look! At the top of the tags, Emily stenciled a little bit of pattern that fades as it goes down the tag with Sugar Cube ink. The touch of pattern adds a great texture without overpowering the tag design. I also really like the touches of sparkle that Emily added on the tags by using glitter cardstock and embossing.
On the larger set of tags, Emily did a few things to step up the tag design. The snow on the smaller tags is behind the critters, while on the larger tags it is in front of them. Emily tucked the bottom of the critters behind the snow and popped up the top portions of them with foam adhesive. She made sure to untuck the scarves for a great dimensional effect. The sentiments for these tags are stamped onto the Tag Team die cuts and the extra tag layer adds a lot of whimsy and fun!
Check out the list below for all of the supplies that Emily used on her tags:
Here is more inspiration from the TE Creative Team for your holiday tag making using new products from the Handmade for the Holidays release:
Jen Shults created a pile of tags with the Snow Squad Die & Clear Combo set and I love how she created brown bears instead of polar bears! The critters are added to tag bases cut out using the Tag Stacklets 2 die collection from Sugar Cube and Toffee cardstock that are stenciled with the Snow Flurry stencil. Jen added sentiments from the Itty Bitty Sentiments – Holiday stamp set to the tops of her tags stamped onto tiny tags cut out with the Itty Bitty Tags 1 die collection.
Melody Rupple created an adorable set of tags with the Snow Squad Die & Clear Combo set along with a coordinating card to go with the penguin tag. The tag bases are cut out using the Pierced Tag Stacklets 2 die collection from Salt Water Taffy cardstock and Melody also used the Snow Flurry stencil to add a snowy background. The sentiments on the tags are stamped using the Modern Holiday Greetings stamp set and the sentiment on the card is from the Merry & Bright stamp set. The finishing touch on Melody’s card and tags is Bits & Pieces – Snowflakes!
Here’s another cute set of Christmas tags by Melody Rupple created with the Critter Clips – Christmas die collection. Melody cut out the critters from the Critter Clips Holiday Felt Bundle and added them to Toffee cardstock tag bases cut out with the Pierced Tag Stacklets 2 die collection and stamped with the Boughs & Berries Background stamp. The sentiments on the tags are from the Modern Holiday Greetings stamp set and Melody added gold metallic twine to the top of the tags to tie them onto gifts.
Kavya used the Critter Clips – Christmas dies and cut out the critters from cardstock to add them to several different projects. The penguin is added to a Present Treat Wrap filled with peppermint treats, the snowman is added to a treat box, the Santa tummy is added to a jumbo paper clip that is attached to the top of a glassine bag filled with sweet treat, and Kavya used the reindeer pieces to create a reindeer ornament (Ah! So cute!) with one of the Birch Wood Ornaments. I love how Kavya used a white gel pen to add extra dimension to the die cut shapes!
Create a bunch of tags quickly and easily using the new Simple Tags products like Emily Mydlowski did here. While the Foil It Simple Tags – Holiday panels are able to accept foil, Emily left the black images as is and added color with the Simple Tags – Holiday Layering Stencil set with Poblano Pepper and Eggplant inks. She cut out the tags using the Simple Tags die and added twine to each one so that they are ready to add to gifts!
You can keep things simple or add lots of details using the Simple Tags products! Jill Hawkins added all of the sparkle and shine to her tags! She foiled the Foil It Simple Tags – Holiday panels with Silver Deco Foil and added the details with the Simple Tags – Holiday Layering Stencils using Happy Medium in red and gold glitter. Jill tied her tags onto little treat boxes created with the All Tucked In die that are stamped with holiday images from the All Tucked In – Christmas stamp set.
That wraps up the projects that I have to share for today! There’s more inspiration heading your way tomorrow and it’s all about creating handmade gifts. Make plans to check out the projects from the TE Creative Team along with a video from Joy Baldwin. See you then!
