Inspired by Debbie
So I’m back to card making… no more movie reviews this week! 🙂
After reading Debbie Olson’s blog yesterday I was inspired to try a tall card. I *love* tall cards when other people make them, but I have such a hard time making the card look proportionate. KWIM? A big, huge thanks to Audrey (MsAudreyAnn) for the Sassy Stems images!! I’ve been wanting this set for quite a while and now I have a few images to play with while I’m saving up to buy the set myself! LOL!
This card is for the color challenge on SCS (view challenge here). The colors are Cranberry Crisp, Vintage Violet, and Old Olive. I started the card by making two horizontal slits in the card base. I then stamped the Vintage Violet layer with Houndstooth and matted it with Old Olive. This piece was inserted through the slits I made in the card. Then I made another slit in the crease of the card to run the ribbon through. The image is watercolored with reinkers and an aquapainter and the flowers are covered with stardust Stickles. Would somebody please take the Stickles away from me!? I can’t stop using them! I finished the card off with stitching around the outside and some pearl brads that I’ve been hoarding for weeks!
