Riveting – Thanks So Much
Thank you to everyone who gave me encouragement yesterday before my first class. I really appreciate it. I was exhausted last night after the class was over. I realized that classes really take a lot out you! I am a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, but I’m my own best customer and have only done one stamp camp and an open house so I don’t experience it on a regular basis. The good news is that they want me back for another class! I had four people sign up and they all had a great time and really enjoyed the projects. I have a little bit to learn myself in the way of teaching, but practice makes perfect, right? I think I take for granted all the things I know how to do, and I just assume that other people understand these same things. I found out that’s NOT TRUE! The more explaining and tips I can give, the better… assume nothing! One of my teachers in high school always used to say “You know what assuming does?? It makes an ‘ass’ out of ‘u’ and ‘me’.” Get it!? Ass-u-me = Assume. OK… I know you’re not stupid, but I’m trying to practice not making assumptions here. LOL! I think my next class will be fall themed with some gorgeous coordinating papers just in at the scrapbook store. The brand of the paper is escaping my memory at the moment which isn’t surprising considering the lack of sleep. The card I made last night had to be simple because I was just too tired to do something more involved. I used a pre-printed card from American Crafts, added a Heidi Swapp floral (these are *ginormous*… like as big as my hand), and the stamp from Riveting in Pumpkin Pie as the flower center. I added Crystal Effects to the middle of the Riveting stamp and the whole center is up on dimensionals. Thanks for looking, and thanks again for your encouragement yesterday! You guys are the best! 🙂
