Are you ready for some more sneak peeks from PaperTreyInk!? I am absolutely bursting with excitement to share this project with you! As I planned my countdown post I had such a hard time deciding which set to showcase because they are all so unique and offer endless possibilities. You’re gonna love them! I decided on the Women of Life set because the cutesy flowers were calling my name and the sentiments offer something for all the women in your life. I wanted to focus on Mother’s Day for my Women of Life project (I love it when I can work ahead!). My mom always appreciates my creative efforts and each year I feel as if I must out do last year’s card. So I created this flower shaped card template. You’ll find the template here where you can print it off in full scale. You’ll need a 5″ x 12″ piece of cardstock folded in half for the card. Trace the template onto the folded card. The stem should touch the bottom of the card and the top flower petal should slightly overlap the crease in order to create the fold.
I traced the flower portion of the template onto patterned paper, cut it out, and adhered it to the card base. The patterned paper on my card is from My Mind’s Eye Out & About Collection.
The largest flower in the set coordinates perfectly with the 1 3/8″ circle punch.
I use the double circle punch to create holes for the ribbon.
I threaded the ribbon through the back of the circle and tied a “bunny-ears” bow. If you’re bow challenged, check out my bow-tying video tutorial here.
I traced the flower again onto white paper and cut approximately 1/4″ inside the line. I used markers to color the sentiment and stamped it onto the white layer.
Here’s the finished project! I hope Mom likes it! I’m sure you’ve all seen Nichole’s countdown project already, but just in case you haven’t make sure you head over there! Stay tuned during the rest of the countdown. You’re in for a treat with these new sets!
