July Divine Design Challenge
Good morning! It’s time for another Divine Design Challenge with the Scripture Chicks, but first I need to announce the cupcake challenge winners! The Featured Cupcake sampler honors go to Terri Dodd! You can see her adorable card here. I loved the bright colors she chose and her layout of the image and embellishments is so well-balanced! The random winner of one sheet of each of the Crate Paper Blue Hill Collection is Laurel! You can see her cute Magnolia card here. Laurel, email me with your snail mail address and I’ll send out your papers! Jon and I have been going through the Experiencing God curriculum together and this was the memory verse from our first week. I haven’t been disciplined in the past to put a lot of scripture to memory, but I’m excited that each week we commit to memorizing another verse. When I’m walking through a hard time, it is usually a verse memorized long ago that comes to mind and brings me comfort. I decided to make a 3″ x 5″ scripture card with this verse from John 15:
“I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me, and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.”
I used the Inque Boutique Memoirs mini set to compliment the verse. Make sure you check out the challenge creations from the Scripture Chicks: Lori, Nancy, Angel, and Jami (who will be posting a little later). I hope you’ll all consider playing along in the challenge as well. You can check out all the deets here!
Since Everything Inque Day a couple weeks ago, I’ve gotten several questions about Inque Boutique stamps and the so-called “secret weapon”. I thought a few pictures might help the visual learners understand the Inque Boutique stamps.
You can see in this picture that the stamps are not mounted on cling cushion. It is just rubber (in fun colors… pink, purple, and green!).
You can see here that the image is printed on the back of the stamp (the part that adheres to your acrylic block). It’s really the best of both worlds… the wonderful qualities of rubber stamps plus the ability to see the design you’re stamping through the acrylic block. Because the stamps are not mounted on cling cushion, you need to have some cushion from another source in order to get a clean impression, . This is where Stephanie’s Secret Weapon comes in! The secret weapon is a black mat that you put underneath your paper when you’re stamping the image. It gives just the right cushion needed to get a perfect impression every time! I use the 13″ x 13″ mat with all of my acrylic and unmounted rubber stamps, not just Inque Boutique stamps.
Hopefully these photos have answered some of your questions! If you have more questions, feel free to email me! Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you all have a wonderful day!
