Welcome to Day 2 of sneak peeks for the October release at Taylored Expressions! As you’ve probably guessed by now, this is our holiday release and the Baker’s Dozen and I are excited to share two stamp sets, a set of coordinating dies, and two holiday card kits with you! The beautiful stamp sets “On the Menu” today were illustrated by Nancy McKinney as part of the Whimsical Wishes collection. The gorgeous images in these sets paired with the holiday card kits we’re introducing are sure to give you lots of inspiration as you begin your holiday cards!

Let me start with the card that I made using stamp set Sparkle & Cheer. Each of the charming silhouette images in this set has snowflakes within the design. I decided to use the dove image for my first card. I absolutely love how it turned out and I think this just might be our Christmas card this year! I love working ahead…designed our holiday cocktail party invites yesterday and our Christmas card today! *grin* I started by die cutting the oval and then stamped the image inside using the Tsukineko Glue Pad. I sprinkled Fire Engine Red glitter over the top and stamped the sentiment underneath in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I chose three different patterned papers to use and cut them in strips for the background. Then I stamped the swirl image onto Choice Buttercream cardstock with Olive Pastel chalk ink. I adhered the oval on the card front with foam tape.

The card that I created above uses the new Tinsel & Twig holiday card kit featuring patterned papers from the Girls Paperie. Aren’t those papers gorgeous!? I just can’t seem to put them down. We’ve done the hard work for you in coordinating the cardstock, ribbon, patterned paper, and embellishments. I know you’re all looking forward to getting started on your Christmas cards so we’ve taken that into consideration with these holiday kits. They include even more cardstock and we’re also allowing you to purchase extra cardstock and ribbon packs for easier mass-production. We have one more exciting addition to our holiday card kits! Everyone who purchases our card kits will be able to download 6 inspiration sheets with step by step instructions for creating fabulous Baker’s Dozen projects using the products from the kit. Here’s a sample of the inspiration sheet for the card that I created. These inspiration sheets will be a great point of reference that you can save to your computer and print off when you need them!

The next card I designed uses Winter Wonderland, a beautiful snowflake set that coordinates with Sparkle & Cheer or makes a beautiful card on its own with the help of our new coordinating dies! I started by stamping the snowflakes in chalk ink (Warm Red, Butterscotch, and Aquamarine). I used the clear alignment tools that come with our dies to perfectly align the stamped image before sending it through my die cut machine. See the snowflake dies shapes below!? The cool part about these dies is that each shape fits several different snowflake stamp images! After die cutting the snowflakes, I embellished each one with an Island Lagoon rhinestone, arranged them onto my layout, and popped them up with foam tape. I used a bit of baker’s twine to add little bows to each of the snowflakes and then finished off the entire card with a satin bow.

All of the supplies on this card (except for the baker’s twine) are from the Snow Day Card Kit, the second (and more cutesy version) of our holiday card kits. Again, we’ve done the work of coordinating the patterned paper with cardstock, ribbon, and embellishments… everything you’ll need to make your holiday cards. We’ll also be offering extra cardstock and ribbon packs if you decide on mass-producing a particular design and you need more of a specific color.
