TE Sketch Challenge #156
Good morning & Happy Friday!! With the way the Friday’s fell in March, it has actually been three weeks since our last sketch challenge and I’ve been going through withdrawals! *wink* So today I’m super excited to get back to the sketches with this fun one that Sankari designed!
And here are the sketch requirements:
Create a card using the above sketch as inspiration. You’re not required to use TE stamps to play, but there’s a bonus prize if you do! To be entered into the prize drawing you must link your card using the In Linkz provided below by Thursday, April 25th. And of course there are prizes that are up for grabs:
1. I will randomly select one person from all of the challenge links to receive a $10 gift certificate to the TE Store! If you used predominantly TE Stamps on your project you’ll receive an extra $10 bonus for a total $20 gift certificate!
2. I will select my favorite card to win Top Chef honors! The winner of the Top Chef will play along with the sketch crew and have her blog and card design featured here on the TE blog.
The random winner of a $10 gift certificate to the TE Store is Linda L and she created this beautiful card. Congrats! Please email me to claim your prize!
And the winner of our Top Chef honors is Colleen who created this super cute card using Easter Joy! I love how she used the white liquid applique on the sheep heads to make them ‘puffy’! Colleen will be joining with the sketch crew for TESC157 and we’ll learn more about her then!
But for now it’s time to welcome this week’s Top Chef, Lynnette Kaufmann! We asked her a few questions to learn a little more about her:
Lately, I’ve bought a lot of card stock because I was making some wedding invitations for a friend from church. However, my most recent purchase (and a little more exciting than card stock) was the Taylored Expressions Love Grows Here set. I love it! I plan to make some card sets as gifts with it. I can’t wait!
Thanks so much for sharing a little bit of yourself with all of us, Lynnette! Your projects are always stunning and have that clean and simple quality that so many of us strive for these days! You’ll definitely want to scroll down a bit to check out what Lynnette did with this week’s sketch and also head over to her blog: Netter’s Notables, to see all of her beautiful creations!
I’ve been looking for a reason to use my new Fruity Friends set and this sketch provided just the reason I needed! I started by stamping the watermelon in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored it with Copics. Then I highlighted the rind with Lime Green Stickles and the watermelon with Crystal Stickles. I also added Black Enamel Accents to the seeds to give them a raised and glossy appearance. I cut the image out with a Spellbinders circle and then traced inside the die line with a thin black marker. The circle is layered onto a Spellbinders Lacey Circles cutout. I used patterned papers from the Happy Go Lucky collection to complete the sketch. And then I embellished my sentiment with a few flower brads from my stash, black gingham ribbon, and a glittery button from the Doodlebug Oodles collection. This card makes me smile!
