A Week of Share Joy Inspiration – Technique Challenge
Hey there! I’m here again today with another fun challenge to kick off the next Share Joy Campaign! For the next two months we’re asking you to join us in supporting charities for the homeless by sending us your handmade birthday cards. You can read all about our Share Joy Campaign and how you can make a difference here.
The members of the Baker’s Dozen are kicking us off with a new challenge each day and inspiration to go along with it. Today’s challenge is a technique challenge brought to us by the clever Charmaine Ikach!
To try out this technique you’ll need a brayer, ink, and a TE cutting plate. Did you know you can also impress the designs of our cutting plates? Actually, it’s something I had never tried myself so I was excited when Charmaine recorded a video to share this technique with all of us! You can watch her video HERE.
Here’s the birthday card I created using the Party Banner Cutting Plate and an older favorite stamp set, Sprinkled with Love:
I told you the other day that I recycle images that happen to be sitting on my desktop and apparently I also recycle patterned papers as the patterned papers I used in my card yesterday worked great with this card too. I followed Charmaine’s technique for impressing the design into cardstock and then masked the rectangle portion and brayered over the top with pink ink. The image was colored with Copics and paper pieced using the Basic Grey Knee Highs patterned paper.
Here are the supplies that I used from the TE Store:
The Baker’s Dozen gals have more inspiration to share using this cool technique so check ’em out below! I hope you’ll join in the fun too and upload a link to your project! If you decide to send birthday cards for our Share Joy Campaign you don’t have to use TE stamp or participate in our challenges. We’re just here to give you a little jump start this week!
