Blog Design Team: My Heart Beats for You
It’s Friday! Today, the very talented Lea Lawson shows us how to take some of your non-Valentine-specific products out for a spin to create a Love Day card perfect for a special guy (or gal)…
Lea’s Notes: Love is certainly in the air these days! Valentine’s Day is just a
couple weeks away, and today I’ve created a sweet valentine that you
could give to anyone special in your life!
Lea’s Notes: To start I cut an A2
card from oatmeal cardstock, then rounded the bottom corners with a
corner punch.
Lea’s Notes: I diecut the hearts from heather grey, cranberry, and
cotton candy colored felt, and layered them together to the front of the
card. After tying a double bow from ivory twine, I threaded a gold
chipboard heart to the middle of it and adhered them to the felt
hearts.
Lea’s Notes: I stamped the banner and sentiment to oatmeal
cardstock, then diecut it using the It’s a Banner Day 1 die. I slipped it
slightly underneath the gold heart, on top of the felt hearts. I
finished the card by accenting with some sequins.
Lea’s Notes: Heather grey
may not seem like the most predictable color for Valentine’s day, but I
really love what it added to this card! It also gave it a little bit of
masculinity, which your favorite guy will probably appreciate! I
didn’t really use any Valentine-specific products from my Taylored
Expressions collection for this card. I love being able to create
themed cards using non-themed products…it shows how versatile your
product can be! I hope you will give it a try, and whip up some valentines using all your different TE goodies!
Thanks for sharing such a wonderful project with us today, Lea! You can catch more of Lea’s design work on her blog, Lea Lawson Creates.
