For my first project today I decided to keep it simple with a set of cards using Fancy Banner 1 and the new Floral Vine Embossing Folder.
I started by stamping several banners in Memento Espresso Truffle ink and coloring them with Copic markers. Then I die cut the banners with the coordinating die. The Floral Vine Embossing Folder made a great backdrop for the banner and I finished it off with the previously released Lace Chain Border, some natural burlap twine, and gold matte sequins.
After designing the first card it was easy to make duplicates in different color schemes. The sequins are from our new wedding sequins mix pictured above. There are six sentiments in the Fancy Banner 1 stamp set so you’ll have something for almost every occasion.
For my second project I was feeling inspired by the Block Party – Love die and I’m so excited about the card that came out at the end!
The die is designed so that it can cut the word directly into the card front both vertically and horizontally. I wanted the back panel to show a watercolored view through the die cut portions to make the word LOVE really pop.
So I started with watercolor paper folded into a card base and used three colors of Faber Castell Gelatos to color onto the bottom inside of the folded card. After spritzing with water and allowing the colors to blend I came out with this watercolored look peeking through to the front.
Then I added sentiments from the In & Out – Wedding stamp set embossed with black embossing powder. It’s really tough to see in the photos, but I also added sticky tape strips of various thicknesses to the front of the card and put glitter over the top to create a glittery striped pattern. I finished the front with a felt flower embellishment from my stash.
To finish off the inside of the card I stamped a sentiment partially overlapping the watercolored element using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
I hope you enjoyed our first day of sneak peeks for the March Release! I know the rest of the Baker’s Dozen gals have some fabulous things to share with you so check ’em out by clicking on their photos below:
