Blog Design Team: Bloomin’ Hello
Hey there, crafty friends! Today Blog Design Team member, Sharon Harnist has created a beautiful card that is just bursting with summertime color. Check out how she created it below…
Now let’s hear from Sharon about her card…
Hello and happy July, everyone! Beautiful summer flowers in full bloom this
time of year were my inspiration to color up this TE’s
Gathered Blooms Cutting Plate die cut from
white cardstock! These are the Copic markers I used:
To begin, I simply cut the Gathered Blooms from Sugar Cube cardstock and
started coloring to my heart’s content! For a more subtle or elegant look, for
perhaps a sympathy or wedding occasion, you could try making a more
monochromatic card and color the flowers in varying shades of the same color
family.
Next, I adhered the colored panel flat to a top folding A2 card made from
Sugar Cube cardstock.
Finally, the greeting was created with Pockets & Pages-Circle
Words, die cut from Sugar Cube and metallic
gold cardstock. I swapped out the pieces from each die cut cardstock color
and inlaid the pieces back together, using a 1.75” circle punched piece of
cardstock as a base to adhere and hold the pieces all together. Now I have
another gold on white version of this hello word to use on another card or
scrapbook page! The greeting was popped up on foam tape over the background.
I hope this project gives you some ideas on how to color up your cutting
plate die cuts, to get some fun additional looks from them!
Thank you, Sharon for sharing this happy, blooming card with us today! Please visit Sharon on her blog, PaperFections, for more of her wonderful work.
