Blog Design Team: Critters Take to the Ice!
Happy day, crafty friends! Did you have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday? We stuffed ourselves silly! We know many of you are already under a blanket of snow, so we have a treat for you today. Design Team member Amy Kolling has created a darling winter card that will get you outside despite the cold!
Now, let’s hear from Amy about her project…
With the winter season approaching, it brings with it things like snowflakes, ice skating,
and warm cocoa. One thing I have always wanted to do was ice skate.
This season, I may just have to take advantage of the rink that gets
set up for our local hockey team games!
The Critters on
Ice stamps were so adorable that I just had to create a wintry scene
for my card. I started by die-cutting some hills out of white glitter
cardstock using the Build a Scene: Rolling Hills dies. (Tip: Using
glitter cardstock saves time when creating winter scenes. My background
was done by lightly watercoloring in Tumbled Glass Distress Ink. I
love the look this gives for a wintry sky!
My critters
were all colored with Copics and die-cut with matching dies. They were
adhered using foam adhesive over the glittery hills and sky. My
sentiment was stamped onto vellum, trimmed, and tucked between my
critters. To add some more wintry touches, I die-cut some snowflakes
using the Make a Snowflake dies out of more of the white glitter
cardstock. The snowflakes were adhered and trimmed off the edge of my
panel.
Thanks so much, Amy, for sharing this happy, snow-filled card with us today. You can catch more of Amy’s design work on her blog, Stamp-n-Paradise. Have a joyful day!
