Feeling Lucky!
Happy Thursday to you, crafty friends! It’s March, which means in a few short weeks we’ll be celebrating St. Patrick’s Day! Do you make cards for this fun-filled holiday? It’s a great crafty excuse to send someone a happy, joyful card. To inspire you, Creative Team members Charmaine Ikach and Shannon White are sharing two darling cards for the day that will have you wanting to craft your own luck o’ the Irish!
A Note from Charmaine about her card…
I don’t create cards for St. Patrick’s Day often enough. I just LOVE this Lucky Charm Stamp & Die Combo, and this four-leaf clover is especially adorable! I paired it with the Rainbow Cutting Plate and Stitched Cloud Duo dies to create my card. I die-cut the rainbow out of Oreo, Cherry Pop, Candy Corn, Lemon Meringue, Peapod, Cookie Monster, Salt Water Taffy and Jelly Donut cardstocks and then pieced the rainbow together on the card base. The clover was stamped, colored with Copic markers, and then die-cut using the coordinating dies. I also used the Little Bits – Rainbow’s End as well as some Rainbow Brights Sequins. The sentiment was stamped in Oreo ink to finish off the card. Now doesn’t that happy clover just make you smile?

A Note from Shannon about her card…
So being the good Irish Lass that I am (LOL!), I am always looking for quick, fun ways to whip up some cute lucky cards to send out to friends and family for St. Patrick’s day, and of course this year was no exception. So for this year’s design, I decided to play around with TE’s Stitched Heart Stacklets Dies and Heart Stacklets Dies that were already sitting on my crafting table from all my recently completed Valentine projects and this is what I came up with!
Love how my fun cut out shamrock turned out. To create it, I cut out three Stitched Hearts and arranged them to create a guide for my shamrock, taped them together with a piece of painters tape, and lightly traced them on my background panel for a cutting guide. Next, I placed my Stitched Heart Stacklets accordingly, using the traced guide, and cut out three more hearts creating my shamrock cut out. For the stem, I just sketched it out and used my hobby knife to cut it out. My mats and backgrounds were created with Sugar Cube and Toffee cardstock. To finish it up, I die-cut my layered sentiment with the help of TE’s Pockets and Pages March Script from Peapod and Sugar Cube cardstocks.
