Today’s video is from Emily Leiphart. Emily brings you an out of the box color combination on her set of winter cards created with the Create-in-Quads Snowflake Layering Stencil set. Watch the video below:
In the video, Emily shares how she created four cards with the Create-in-Quads Snowflake Layering Stencil set. Emily’s color combination for the different layers is: Spearmint, Peaches ‘n’ Cream, Pumpkin, and Honey. Once the backgrounds are stenciled, Emily cuts them apart and adds them to card bases in coordinating cardstock colors. The sentiments from the Winter Blessings stamp set are embossed in white and diamond embossing powder, cut out with the coordinating dies, layered onto gold glitter cardstock die cuts, and added to the cards. The finishing touch is a few Bits & Pieces – Gold Drip Drops on a few of the cards.
I love the colors that Emily used and am itching to get to my craft desk to try this color combination out myself! One thing that Emily mentioned in the video was how just swapping the order that you stencil the colors in will give you a whole different look – what a great idea to expand the possibilities of just a few supplies!
The Create-in-Quads collection enables you to mass produce great card designs quickly and easily, but you can always find great ways to step up your card designs. Emily added lovely touches of sparkle and shine with glittery embossing powder, glittered cardstock peeking out from behind the sentiments, and Bits & Pieces – Gold Drip Drops sprinkled throughout the designs.
Check out the list below for all of the supplies that Emily used on her cards:
Here is more inspiration from the TE Creative Team using the new Create-in-Quads Snowflake Layering Stencil set and other new products that we released this week:
I love the rainbow of snow flurries on this set of cards by Emily Mydlowski created with the Create-in-Quads Snowflake Layering Stencil set! Emily used her Bitty Blender Brushes to add the multiple colors to the snowflakes and did the last layer of dots with Oreo ink to add a pop to the design. The larger sentiments are from the new Winter Blessings set and are embossed in white on Oreo cardstock. Emily also used sentiments from the Mini Strips – Holiday and Simple Strips – Christmas stamps. There are lots of layered snowflakes added to the cards that are cut out with the Make a Snowflake dies and the snowman is cut out with the Snow Squad Die & Clear Combo set.
Noriko Fairchild used a pretty pastel and jewel tone color combination of this set of cards that she created with the Create-in-Quads Snowflake Layering Stencil set. To achieve different shades of color, Noriko kept a light hand in some areas for lighter tones and a heavier hand in other areas for darker tones. I love all of the texture and dimension that the different shades of color create! The sentiments from the Winter Blessings stamp set are embossed in white on Cupcake cardstock and cut out with the coordinating dies.
Melody Rupple stenciled up a set of snowflake cards on Toffee cardstock with the Create-in-Quads Snowflake Layering Stencil set. To add texture and sparkle, the first layer is embossed in white and then topped with Happy Medium – Iridescent Glitter. Poblano Pepper, Confetti Cake, and Salt Water Taffy inks complete the snowflake designs and then Melody added sentiments from the Get Cozy stamp set. Burlap twine and Bits & Pieces – Snowflakes are the finishing touches!
